INTERIOR
Entering into the newly-built Villa Loutraki the light open spaces, full on views to the sea and simple décor make you feel immediately in the holiday spirit. The very large, open-plan sitting room/kitchen/dining area are all set up conveniently to the terrace level where certainly most of your time will be spent. The floor to ceiling windows and French doors are set to take full advantage of the views and the light. Brightly decorated in an island style it is evident that there is an artist in the owner’s family. Quirky, artsy touches abound inside and out, from traditional paintings to some modern-type art faucet handles and outdoor sculptures. The kitchen is completely equipped with full sized fridge and oven, a dishwasher, microwave, blender and more where cooking up your holiday meals will be easy and fun. A large breakfast table sits just inside of the floor to ceiling double French door and not only has views directly out to sea, it also takes in a view to the hilltop village of Glossa. In the sitting room, the flat screen television is equipped with satellite and DVD player and the sofa faces to the outdoor dining area and the sea beyond. On this main level of the house there is a w/c shower room and 1 bedroom furnished with a double bed. This bedroom is perfect for an elderly family member or perhaps the baby sitter where convenience to the kitchen and outdoor spaces would be essential. It is also located just next to the w/c shower room for convenience.
Heading up the stairs to a second level hallway there are two bedrooms with a shared w/c shower room. Each bedroom has its own private balcony facing to the sea and down to the little port of Loutraki. Here is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day at the beach or exploring the island and watch the sun setting in the distance. As the lights begin to twinkle on in the towns of Glossa and Loutraki the views are beyond compare. And later, if one is lucky enough to catch sight of a full moon falling, it is even more amazing. At the end of this upstairs hallway is a terrace which is covered from the mid-day heat and furnished with table and chairs – a perfect place to curl up with a good book or to watch the boats coming and going from the busy harbour below. With balconies outside of each and every room of Villa Loutraki, many hours will be spent enjoying the fabulous views that are offered from its lofty position, high in the hills.
EXTERIOR
Perhaps the most striking feature of the outdoor spaces at Villa Loutraki is the enormous and obviously very old Mediterranean Pine tree which sits just off to the side of the villa. This huge old tree makes a beautiful accent and provides a huge area of natural shade. A built-in BBQ sits off to the side and becomes a feature all of its own. It is built in a traditional Skopelitian style, artistic touches have been added along with the rounded and terraced walls. There is a large wooden table just outside of the kitchen and sitting room which is conveniently located close to both the kitchen and BBQ area. This is the perfect spot for outdoor dining overlooking the cool blue waters of the private swimming pool below and then out to sea.
The swimming pool level can be reached from two places, one access is by going down a few steps near the terrace. The other entrance is a sloping grassy path without steps which could be convenient for an elderly person. The other added bonus to the pool area at Villa Loutraki is that it is very child friendly. The fencing completely encloses the pool area and has a locking gate so that children cannot enter unattended.
The spacious outdoor areas will be the favourite places for occupants of Villa Loutraki. Whether swimming or sunning around the pool, relaxing under the shade of the decades old Pine, or relaxing on one of the many balconies – one will always find a private and quiet place for some much needed ‘down time’ in this comfortable villa.
