INTERIOR
Entering into the open plan main level kitchen/sitting room, you immediately sense that the house is not just a rental accommodation, but also a lovingly decorated home in which the owner spends time. With the kitchen painted in pretty blues and greens, it has all the conveniences of your own kitchen and French doors for easy access to the outdoor patio areas.
Villa interiorA skylight centred above the kitchen allows for extra light to the entire space. The highlight of the dining area is a huge round thick wooden dining table with plenty of seating for large parties.The sitting room is amply furnished with a comfortable sofa, floor pillows, country antiques and cosy kelim rugs. Every side of the room is lined with windows offering fantastic views to the sea and neighbouring islands and thus creating a light and airy space. A winding stairway leads to a unique upper floor with two bedrooms on different levels. A smaller stairway leads to the master bedroom with three French doors opening to two private balconies and one shared terrace. The balconies are on opposite sides of the room and offer spectacular views of both sunrise and sunset.
view of the areaview of the areaThe 'top of the world' terrace is the perfect spot for afternoon sunning with views down to the pool and un-interrupted vistas to brilliant azure seas. The spacious w/c with full sized bath is centrally located down the hall and is decorated in bright blue tiles. At the end of the hallway is the second bedroom, which consists of a sunny office with desk, bookshelves and French doors to the same terrace that is shared with the master bedroom. A small stairway (not recommended for young children) ascends to the sleeping gallery. It is furnished with two single mattresses on the floor in an open space under the roof rafters and has a small w/c shower room.
interiorA third bedroom with a separate entrance is reached from the front terrace. This room has two single beds and is perfect for teenage and young adult children, allowing them some independence and privacy from the main house. It is equipped with a separate very small shower room and w/c.
EXTERIOR
The outside areas of this unusually designed villa are one of its best assets. The wrap-around terracotta tiled terraces with glorious sea views lend a real Mediterranean feel and create a perfect spot for all. Sun or shade, breezes or a warm protected sunny area, there's an ideal position for every time of day. SURROUNDINGS
Villa Petaloutha's position near the north tip of the island ensures lots of opportunities for exploration. Some of the islands loveliest and out of the way beaches are within just a few minutes drive. view of the pool and the seaWalkers will enjoy the most un-spoilt parts of the island by walking in any direction along the many old donkey trails and paths. The town of Glossa can be reached in only 20 minutes (approx) walk from the villa enabling you to have an evening meal and walk back as the sun is setting in the distance.
