Hotels in Anania, skopelos Lithi Villa
The most outstanding feature of Lithi Villa is the long, wide stairway leading up to the roof terrace, which gives way to astounding views of two sides of the island with sea on each side. This ‘top of the world’ feeling must be similar to that which the ancient Greeks felt from their hilltop temples. The wide terraces complete with Minoan columns, make the perfect place to watch the ferries come and go between the islands. Dive into the clear blue water of the mosaic-tiled swimming pool, a flying fish decorating the bottom for fantasy. Sip on an ouzo alongside the modern iron sculpture that creates a striking contrast to the historic architecture of the villa, all whilst enjoying the sweeping

INTERIOR
The cool interior of Lithi Villa leads into an open-plan sitting room/kitchen area. It is furnished with a spacious dining table and built-in seating area as well as comfortable lounging chairs. The two bedrooms are situated on opposite sides of the sitting room lending the utmost of privacy to each. This design is especially great for two couples holidaying together. One bedroom has two single beds and the other is furnished with one double bed, each has identical en-suite w/c shower rooms.

The interior wall drawings in the sitting room and bedrooms of Lithi Villa are hand painted by the owner, Vasso, who is a well known local artist specializing in copies of ancient Greek artworks. They depict various scenes from the Minoan period and are authentic copies of original Cretan wall paintings. This interesting touch lends another historical angle to this unique and imaginative villa.

EXTERIOR
Lithi Villa is completely surrounded by a tall castle-like wall which adds to the fantasy of the villa and affords complete privacy to the property. It has its own separate and gated entrance which dramatically leads down to the villa offering breathtaking views to the sea. This tall wall divides the space between the other villa which shares the same property. There is a locking door between the two villas which can be left open should one party like to book both Minoas and Lithi Villas. The private swimming pool enjoys an extremely spacious terrace area with fabulous views. The mosaic-designed 'Helidonopsara' or flying fish, which decorates the bottom of the swimming pool, was also designed by Vasso.

SURROUNDINGS
'Lithi Villa' is located in the tiny village of Ananias, which is an 8 klm drive from Skopelos Town. Ananias sits high in the hills above Glifoneri Beach facing northeast toward Alonissos. It consists of just a few kalivia and a local church where the families have been living off the land for generations. The area is wonderful for walkers and hikers. Spreading out in all directions are donkey paths and dirt tracks leading to all parts of the island. The nature is stunning in this area and the un-spoilt atmosphere is great for those looking for a peaceful retreat. The lovely beaches of Panormos, Kastani, Limnonari and Agnondas are all within an approximate 20 minute drive from the house.

Hotels in Anania, skopelos GROUNDS AND HISTORY
Lithi Villa sits on a huge piece of privately owned land consisting of 150,000 sqm. Wild goats and a private collection of wild deer, which originally came from the islands of Limnos and Rhodes, roam the land, which runs down the valley and back up the other side. The family-owned church of Analipsis, which was built by the Kosmas family two generations ago, sits on the hillside opposite the houses. Two natural springs are also found on the property, Gelali Spring and Karia Spring where clean, cold water flows from the earth. Spiros Kosmas and his wife Vasso, both artists, designed the house themselves in an effort to re-create a sense of mystique and history. The architecture of the house is Minoan because of the strong historical link Skopelos has with the Minoans of Crete. The Cretan prince, Prince Stafilos came to Skopelos in approximately 16.00BC and colonized the island. At his command three cities were founded; Stafilos, where the Prince remained, Skopelos, occupied by his brother Peparithos (the ancient name of the island) and Knossa (later known as Glossa). Evidence of his life, and eventually his death on Skopelos was confirmed by the discovery of his grave in 1936 located at Stafilos Beach. Many of the artefacts which were found in the grave are now housed in the National Museum in Athens.

SUITABILITY
Lithi Villa is the perfect 'get-away' for those who want a peaceful and natural setting for their holiday.
