INTERIOR
This simple yet comfortable villa opens into an open plan sitting room/kitchen area that connects to a large covered terrace. The terrace is the perfect setting for al fresco dining and so convenient to the kitchen for easy serving. The room has a traditional, nautical décor which reflects that the family has been sea farers for generations.
There are open wood beamed ceilings and large windows that face out toward the spacious terrace and to the sea in the distance. Two sitting room sofas face each other for a relaxed communal setting with the television in the corner.
The kitchen has everything one needs for cooking holiday meals and includes a full sized oven and fridge. A small breakfast table sits in the kitchen but one could imagine having breakfast as well on the comfortable terrace with the fabulous views to the sea. The villa has two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with two single beds. Both bedrooms are furnished with bedside tables, large built-in closets, air conditioning and en-suite w/c shower rooms. The wooden beamed ceilings and windows facing out to the grassy yard and beyond to the sea create a light and airy atmosphere.
EXTERIOR
The lovely outdoor spaces are the highlight of Villa Katerina. The house sits in a private walled and gated complex with Villa Katerina situated at the bottom and in the front of several other villas that the owners occupy. The covered terrace is not overlooked and the pool area has greenery to protect the privacy of the occupants of the villa. Certainly many hours will be spent on the shaded front terrace with its comfortable outdoor furniture, sipping drinks in the evening or lounging with a good book during the heat of the day. The attractive, kidney shaped pool sits on the side of the house and has large terraces that meet with the vast front lawn – the perfect place for children to play and explore.
SURROUNDINGS
Villa Katerina is located on the main road that leads into the village of Glossa which can be reached in just a couple of minutes by car or 15 min by foot. The town has plenty of shops and several restaurants to choose from including one of the island’s most popular. Alternatively, the bus stops nearby and one can explore in either direction – down to the port of Loutraki in 10 minutes or to Glossawhich is reached in approx 50 minutes by bus.
The nearest beach to the villa is in the small village of Loutraki where there are several tavernas lining the waterfront that sit right on the waters edge. In addition, one of the islands loveliest beaches of Perivouli is located in the Glossa area and can be reached by car in about 15 minutes from the villa.
SUITABILITY
Villa Katerina is great for both families and couples who are looking for a comfortable villa on the quieter side of Skopelos Island. The sea views and sunsets are breathtaking and the spacious yard is just what parents are looking for when holidaying with children – lots of space to play and explore.
