Taking its name from Koumaria, the wild strawberry tree which is an evergreen plant producing scarlet berries used for food or as ornaments, Koumaria villa nestles amidst a patchwork of vineyard fields only 2.5 km from Ithaca’s charming capital, Vathy and apart from its exterior and location (built a bit higher offering better view) it is very similar to Agrambeli Villa. From its front windows and spacious terraces this lovely property boasts lovely panoramas over the surrounding countryside of Ithaca (Ithaki) and an excellent sea view.
Koumaria villa has been built according to the traditional architecture using coloured plaster and it is a 75m2 spacious villa. Comfortably furnished and extremely well decorated, it consists of an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen and two bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Wood and stone are the most commonly used materials in this magnificent villa. The interior is bright and homely with the different colour schemes of each room carefully chosen to reflect the vibrancy of tones and shades found on Ithaca and make an excellent combination with the wooden roof. Oak floor covers the entire house. Furniture has been carefully selected to create traditional yet comfortable areas with a modern touch.
The villa is fully air-conditioned. There is a fireplace in the living room and the kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, oven, hotplates, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. The villa has an LCD TV, home cinema, radio and internet connection. The bedrooms are located in the southern side of the house and have wooden wardrobes and iron beds. One bedroom has a double bed, sea view and access to the villa’s front yard while the other bedroom has 2 single beds with mountain view and access to the villa’s garden. From the bedroom window one can enjoy the view of the olives, the vineyards and the house garden. Great attention has been given to the bathroom facilities and decoration. One bathroom has a bathtub while the other has a shower cabin. The spacious garden has plenty of olive trees, rosemary, lavender, geranium and other plants and trees. What is most important, however, is the privacy it offers to its guest who may spend an undisturbed holiday in the island of Ithaca.
