The dwellings nestle in the midst of a verdant hilly landscape, where olive groves and colourful plants reach all the way above the complex of the apartments as well as down to the sea.

In the garden of the dwellings there is a well equipped (with sun beds and sun umbrellas) swimming pool (200 m3 water), with a shallow end for children. It is set in large lawns on a separate raised terrace reached by a short flight of stone steps. It is an ideal spot to relax, unwind and enjoy the Cretan sun.

Each apartment and studio is simply but charmingly and tastefully furnished in the typical Cretan style. The "sofrades" (small, round wooden tables) and the flagstone floors with fixed beds are some of their characteristics. Each apartment has a private balcony with a wonderful view over the bay. All accommodations are recently renovated and are equipped with air conditioning, fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom with bath tub or shower.

The different types of accommodation are as follows:
A: Two studios, about 30 sqm. in size and accommodating capacity for 2-3 people. Each one provides a living / bedroom with double and a single bed, which is somewhat set apart in a corner, kitchenette, shower / WC and sun terrace with a beautiful view.
B: Five maisonettes, about 50 qm. in size and accommodating capacity for 2-4 people. Each one provides a living / bedroom with 2 fixed - sofa beds, a full equipped kitchenette, seating area and terrace on the ground floor. A wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where a bedroom with a fixed double bed, hip bath / shower / WC and balcony with magnificent unbroken sea view are set.
C: Four apartments, about 50 sqm in size for 4 people. Each of them with two bedrooms, most of which have two built in single beds, a living/dining room with a full equipped kitchenette, bathroom/WC and a large balcony terrace (10,5m x 2,5m) with beautiful view over the bay.
C1: One apartment, about 44 sqm. in size, accommodating capacity for 4 people, with two bedrooms, a living / dining area with full equipped kitchenette, shower / WC and a very big terrace with beautiful sea view.

We consider that a car is necessary due to the steep track up to the property and its position on the edge of the village.

The ideal location of the apartments and the magnificent view over the Istron Bay consist the main characteristics of this spot, where you can enjoy your holidays in Crete. Spending your holidays in Istro and staying at Kounenos Apartments means that you will enjoy your holidays in a warmhearted place. Kounenos apartments is a charakteristic sample of Cretan accomodations. They could host all those who wish to be close to nature and tranquility.

This Cretan family house is situated down a small side road to the beach. The sand and pebble beach lies only about 100 metres away and the first shops, tavernas as well as the bus stop are about 200 metres from the house.

The apartment for rent is located to the first floor and is for up to 5 people. It includes two bedrooms, one large and one small, each with a double bed, an extra bed in the living room and a shower / wc. A breakfast bar divides a large living room from a well equipped kitchenette with full size electric cooker and fridge.

From a small balcony, you have a lovely view over the surrounding gardens stretching across to the sea. The garden of the house, with burgeoning plants and beautiful shady trees is also a magnificent place for relax.
