Each group of Greek islands has its own unique style in both architecture and nature. The Ionian Islands are the greenest of them all and their architecture has been significantly influenced by the Venetians and their traces have been clearly engraved in most of them.

Most towns and villages are colourful with red roof tiles on their buildings. Houses usually have 2 storeys only and small balconies. Although the Ionian Islands have yielded to mass tourism, large parts of them still remain intact, as a reminder of the past.

Offering a more appealing holiday option, a house usually costs much less than three or four double / triple rooms together and it includes a fully equipped kitchen and most times a swimming pool, thus saving extra money as the tenants do not really need to get out often.
